Iran basketball earns spot at U19 Worlds

TEHRAN – Iran defeated South Korea 88-63 at the 24th FIBA Asia U18 Championship semifinals.
In the match held in Tehran’s Azadi Hall on Saturday, the Iranian team booked a place in the final match after beating South Korea.
Earlier on the day, the Japanese team had defeated Lebanon 75-59.
Iran will meet Japan in the final on Sunday and South Korea face Lebanon in the bronze-medal match.
Iran advanced to the 2017 FIBA U19 World Championship as one of the tournament’s top three teams.
The 2017 FIBA U19 World Championship will be held in Cairo, Egypt from 1 to 9 July 2017.
